Grade 2 titanium plate
Commercially pure plate, 1–60 mm, for heat exchangers and pressure equipment.
Grade 2 is the workhorse of chemical process equipment: fully corrosion resistant in seawater and most oxidising acids, readily formed and welded, and far cheaper than the alloy grades.
Forming and welding
Cold forming to a bend radius of 2.5 times thickness is routine. Welding is straightforward with proper inert gas shielding on both sides of the joint.
Pressure equipment
Plate for PED service ships with the additional documentation the directive requires, including the impact test results where the design demands them.
